July 27 - Day 8

Unit 11.
On Tuesday nights I teach a Yoga class at Body Moves Fitness Studio . The studio is in an old building on the corner of Romeo & Douro. We're unit 10. this is our neighbour unit 11. We don't have the cool sliding door or else this photo would be of us. Yup that's a canoe/kayak(?) in the hallway. There's a second one out of view that rests on an old couch.

July 26 - Day 7

Angel.
I took this photo after my run tonight. I believe it is a memorial for the "Duggan" family. I run every Monday night with a fab group of ladies. We usually meet in the cemetery cause it's quiet, little traffic peaceful scenery, no gawkers and steep hills to punish us! I've noticed this statue the past couple times we've run. I really like the effect of the evening sun has as it shines through the trees illuminating the angel from behind.

July 25 - Day 6

St James.
One of the side entrances of St James Church. I often cut through the church courtyard when I walk downtown. Fitting to take a church photo on a Sunday. Not exactly a religious person but I do believe in a greater force, I just haven't decided exactly what it is yet. Tonight I am on my way to the library to return Beatrice & Virgil by Yann Martel. My review of the book? M'eh. Which also translates to comme ci, comme ca. But give it a read yourself, my m'eh could be your fantastic!

July 24 - Day 5

Zebra.

Is a zebra plant green with purple stripes or purple with green stripes?

July 23 - Day 4

View From The Mat.
When I practice yoga on my back deck this is what I see when I open my eyes after final relaxation. I'm not colour blind, I just liked the photo better sans colour. I love that I can practice outdoors. The sounds, smells and breeze all enhance the experience. The yippy neighbourhood dogs really challenge my zen.
Bring it om!

July 22 - Day 3

Red Shoes
I moved into my house almost a year ago. I just unpacked the box these shoes were in last week. I kind of forgot I had, or should I say, have, them. I think I've only worn them twice. Makes me wonder what other "stuff"I have that I've forgot or rarely use. And I thought I purged a lot when I moved. Apparently not enough.

July 20 - Day 2

Tomato Plant.
This is my cherry tomato plant that lives on my back deck. When summer first arrived I had grand ideas about growing lots of different veggies and herbs but this and my cilantro is all I've got. I guess there's still time to add and there is always next year. Gardening/growing/nurturing plant life is not my forte so I'm just happy this plant is still alive and bonus , bearing delicious tomat'ers!

July 20 - Day 1

Siddhartha.
This Buddha sits on my enclosed front porch. He's a garden statue but I've never put him outside for fear someone would steal him, or use him to smash my windows in an attempt to steal me. I also have strong feelings about antique gnomes being the only statues permissable in gardens. I bought "Sid" at the St Jacobs farmers market years ago. He's very heavy and very peaceful.

photo/day

In order to pulverize a creative rut I'm in I decided to start this blog.

It kills two birds with one stone for me - I'm finally blogging and doing something creative - working on my photography.

Each day I've pledged to take a photo and write a little snippet. I haven't set a timeline for this project, I'll see where it takes me.

Day 1 was July 20, 2010. I likely won't post each day but will load up a week at a time.

Enjoy!
